SNRK is a member of the sucrose nonfermenting (SNF)-related kinase family of serine/threonine kinases (Kertesz et al., 2002 [PubMed 12234663]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009] Function: May play a role in hematopoietic cell proliferation or differentiation. Potential mediator of neuronal apoptosis. Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Tissue Specificity: Expressed in hematopoietic progenitor cells and leukemic cell lines. Weakly expressed in the testis. Post-translational modifications: Autophosphorylated. Similarity: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family. Contains 1 protein kinase domain.
