This gene is an ortholog of the C. elegans unc-76 gene, which is necessary for normal axonal bundling and elongation within axon bundles. Other orthologs include the rat gene that encodes zygin II, which can bind to synaptotagmin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Involved in axonal outgrowth and fasciculation. Subunit: Homodimer; difulfide-linked. May form heterodimers with FEZ1. Interacts with synaptotagmin. Tissue Specificity: Expressed in nonneural tissues, such as heart, lung, spleen, muscle, testis, placenta and melanocytes. Similarity: Belongs to the zygin family. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (rat brain); Antigen retrieval by microwave in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) ; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes; Blocking buffer (3% BSA) at RT for 30min; Antibody incubation with (FEZ2) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-11840R) at 1:400 overnight at 4℃, followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody (labeled with HRP)and DAB staining.
